Wildewood Lodge on Lake Savant is a Housekeeping Plan outfitter located 75 miles east of Sioux Lookout in northwest Ontario, Canada. They are quite unique in that they provide remote and limited access fishing using a 17-passenger Hagglund all-terrain vehicle. What this means for the vacationing fisherman is no gear limits, weight restrictions, or weather delays that you would experience if this would be a fly-in.

This entry contains the information I learned about Wildewood Lodge from searching the web. Fishing Traveler has received no financial or any other type of compensation for this post. The information here is accurate only to the best of my knowledge. All information should be verified with Wildewood Lodge before booking a trip.

Lake Savant is a big lake with almost 90,000 acres of water. Lake Savant is 25 miles long and has over 400 miles of shoreline. There is no public access and only one other lodge on the lake. Lake trout, northern pike, white fish and walleye are the main species targeted at Lake Savant.

Accommodations

They have log cabins that can sleep four to eight people. The cabins have a kitchen/dining area. No indoor bathroom but there is a shower house and you have a private outhouse.

Their boats are 16 ½ foot aluminum V-hull wide beam with four-stroke 15 hp Honda motor with electric start.

Their Housekeeping Plan packages have all the standards. They also provide one tank of gas daily and live bait (two dozen per person per day).

The rates on their site are still listed for 2009. Their prices vary by the number of days you stay. Their 7 night/6 day package was $1015.
