We stayed July2-9/2011. We were a group of 11. 4 adults 7 boys (aged 12-16). Stayed in cabin 2. While we were there the pike fishing was excellent and the walleye very sporadic. The lake and cabins were very nice. The cabin was plenty big and had lots of storage and a nice big kitchen/common area. The cabins water pump gave us lots of problems but was no big deal. we enjoyed the solar panels providing us limited lights each evening. There was no sat phones as advertised. The boats/motors were fine. We did have one motor failure during our week but it was replaced fairly quickly. JC (owner) was tough to deal with in terms of price. He did not inform us until we got there that the fuel (including what was on boat) was extra $! This was a poor way to start our week!. We were also forced to go to the main lodge to get extra fuel ourselves (long way) as they did not deliver. The lake is a fair size so fuel is an issue! We were also very disappointed to learn (after arriving) that campfires were strictly prohibited. Our bbq was shit as one side of the burner was gone so only produced a large open flame! They only visited us once during the week and never came to pick up our garbage. We certainly did enjoy our visit but the customer service was not terrific.

Cabin was nice. There was no Toilet (in Cabin) as we were led to believe. We ran out of propane on the second day and the refrige broke on the third. There was also no lime for the outhouse even though we asked repeatedly. The shower worked sporadicly but served the purpose. Gas was extra but we were not told that until a week before the trip. Most oufitters include gas (my 6 previous trips) in my experience. We had to make several trips to the main camp for supplies burning our own gas. The owner was not very attentive and never visited our cabin once to check on us. His staff was nice but were only sent when we requested propane. The fishing was medeocre but the average size of the Walleye was excellent. 17+ inch. The boats and motors were very nice. I would not use this outfitter again.

I have fished here 3 times and will be returning this summer. It is excellent all around; from the cabins, the staff service and of course, the fishing. Lots and lots of walleye, and you catch them in a variety of ways....bait, plastic jig, trolling, casting, drifting, you name it. When you are tired of that, hit the shoreline and cast for pike. Lots of action all day long. It's a really cool drive up there, seeing the small towns, miles and miles of wilderness and all kinds of wildlife. Thumbs up all the way!!

Bill L who posted the above report has a really cool blog called Wild Ramblings: A New England Ecologist's Writings, Photos and Advice. His post on the trip on his site doesn't describe much about the fishing but does depict the beauty of a Wetetnagami fishing trip from an ecologist's perspective. It is a great read. This is an excellent outfitter. Great fishing lake. Very remote. We hardly saw anyone else while fishing on this 18 mile long lake. Cabins are first rate. I stayed in Cabin 2. Great instructions from outfitter on where to fish. J.C. (the owner) and the entire staff were attentive and very helpful. We had a pretty serious accident to one of our trip members and they were very concerned and extremely helpful. Five stars!!!
