Fishing
Lake Wetetnagami stretches close to 14 miles long and is home to walleye and northern pike. The lake has a very diverse habitat and provides lots of room to explore. The lake is remote enough that you won’t have any problems with needing to share too many spots.
Accommodations
Each cottage is equipped with a propane refrigerator and stove, complete kitchen, and shower. Most of the cabins have indoor toilets but I believe some use an outhouse. The cabins are powered by solar electricity and also have a slow burning wood-stove.
Each camp also has a satellite phone that will connect with you the base camp.
Their rental boats are 15′ Princecraft Yukon boats with 15 hp Yamaha motors.
Packages and Rates
They offer Housekeeping Plan packages. The rates on their site are still from 2009 but their weekly package which includes boat rental is $595 US per person.
Location
Wetetnagami Outfitter is located about 40 miles east of Lebel-sur-Quévillon, Quebec. Their base camp is accessible by car but you boat-in to your camp.

This is an excellent outfitter. Great fishing lake. Very remote. We hardly saw anyone else while fishing on this 18 mile long lake.
Cabins are first rate. I stayed in Cabin 2.
Great instructions from outfitter on where to fish.
J.C. (the owner) and the entire staff were attentive and very helpful. We had a pretty serious accident to one of our trip members and they were very concerned and extremely helpful.
Five stars!!!
Bill L who posted the above report has a really cool blog called Wild Ramblings: A New England Ecologist’s Writings, Photos and Advice. His post on the trip on his site doesn’t describe much about the fishing but does depict the beauty of a Wetetnagami fishing trip from an ecologist’s perspective. It is a great read.

I have fished here 3 times and will be returning this summer. It is excellent all around; from the cabins, the staff service and of course, the fishing. Lots and lots of walleye, and you catch them in a variety of ways….bait, plastic jig, trolling, casting, drifting, you name it. When you are tired of that, hit the shoreline and cast for pike. Lots of action all day long. It’s a really cool drive up there, seeing the small towns, miles and miles of wilderness and all kinds of wildlife. Thumbs up all the way!!
Cabin was nice. There was no Toilet (in Cabin) as we were led to believe. We ran out of propane on the second day and the refrige broke on the third. There was also no lime for the outhouse even though we asked repeatedly. The shower worked sporadicly but served the purpose.
Gas was extra but we were not told that until a week before the trip. Most oufitters include gas (my 6 previous trips) in my experience. We had to make several trips to the main camp for supplies burning our own gas. The owner was not very attentive and never visited our cabin once to check on us. His staff was nice but were only sent when we requested propane.
The fishing was medeocre but the average size of the Walleye was excellent. 17+ inch. The boats and motors were very nice.
I would not use this outfitter again.
