Sportsman's Lodge Sunset
Sportsman’s Lodge sits on Little Vermilion Lake on the Ontario and Manitoba border. Don’t get confused with the Little Vermilion Lake that is fished by Fireside Lodge. This Little Vermilion Lake has fly-in access only. This Little Vermilion Lake is best known for trophy northern pike. They also have plenty of walleyes to keep you satisfied.

Fishing
Sportsman’s Lodge ranks very high as one of Ontario’s go-to destinations for trophy northern pike. Little Vermilion Lake produces monsters. They claim that approximately 74% of the guests at Sportsman’s Lodge have caught the largest pike in their lives while fishing Little Vermilion Lake.
Walleye fishing here is not generally of the trophy variety but will provide very consistent numbers.
Little Verimilion Lake has 14,000 water acres. It is a relatively shallow lake with average depth of 11 feet.
Sportsman’s Lodge is the only lodge on Little Vermilion Lake. But if this isn’t remote enough for you, they also offer outpost trips to Hornell Lake, Mantricia Lake, and Warrington Lake.
They know the treasure they have and work hard to protect it with a No Kill Trophy Pike Policy. All Pike over 35.5” are released. This is a policy that I totally support as it is just completely unnecessry to kill a trophy fish.

Accommodations
Sportsman’s Lodge cabins are equipped with propane cooking stoves, wood heaters, refrigerators, hot and cold running water with flush toilets and showers. They also offer satellite internet, 24-hour telephone service, 24-hour a day electricity supplied from generators, television, and an ice-making machine.
Their boats are 16′ and have electric start 15hp motors.
Packages and Rates
From their web site, they offer Housekeeping Plan and American Plan packages. I can’t tell how recently their rates have been updated on their site. So, I would suggest contacting them directly about rates.
