One of the great things about Lac Seul in Northwest Ontario is the variety of lodges for the fishing traveler. Silver Water Wheel Lodge is a higher end American Plan resort. From what I hear, it is pretty fantastic. It offers fishing in a great section of Lac Seul.

Fishing
Whenever researching a big body of water like Lac Seul (3000 miles of shorline and 500 square mile of water surface area), you have to remember that every lodge location on that lake is not equal. Unless you like long boat rides, being near prime fishing territory is important. While Lac Seul is good throughout, it does have better places than others. From the reports that I read, Silve Water Wheel Lodge sits on one of the best areas fo Lac Seul. This area produces excellent fishing for northern pike and walleye. I have read that is also one of the better areas for catching smallmouth bass on Lac Seul.

Accommodations
These are luxury accommodations. Cottages are fully modern and maid service is provided. What is very unique is that they only accommodate 30 people at a time. So, personal service is guaranteed.
Boats are 18′ Lunds or Alumacrafts with 90hp 4 strokes motors. That’s right, I said 90hp motors. Pretty impressive, huh?
Packages and Rates
Packages are all American Plan. Live bait is included with the package. Guides are also part of the package. Silver Water Wheel Lodge for one week is $3120 per person with 2 people per boat. Package pricing does vary by number of days and number of people in the boat. There are certainly cheaper places to go on Lac Seul but if you are looking for something different where you won’t have to worry about anything, Silver Water Wheel Lodge is your place.

Our group spent June 5th to June 12th at the out post camp from Silver Water Wheel. We had an exceptional trip and was extremely pleased with the hospitality and professionalism of the entire staff.
Mike made our reservations and arrangements in the most professional manner and worked very hard to assure our trip was as comfortable as possible. We were met at the dock by Peter who helped un load us and load all our gear in the boat for the trip out to the out post. Peter was great, he did an excellent job getting us there and making sure we were in good shape prior to leaving.
On our first full day we had an awsome guide (Cam) who showed us a number of places to fish and then fixed and incredible shore lunch of fresh Walleyes.
We can not say enpugh about this great resort. I have been to Canada 29 times and this is by far the best trip ever.
Mike you and your staff are exceptional we rebooked for next year prior to leaving camp.

Best fishing by far I have ever had anywhere. This was my 8th Ontario fishing trip, but my first time at Silver Water Wheel Lodge. Staff, guides, food, and accomodations were all top notch. Appreciated “catch and release” philosophy as well. Guides all worked together well and had “round table” discussion each night to help ensure the best possible experience for all guests.
I can honestly say I will likely not ever take another walleye fishing trip to a different resort. Everything was top notch. I will return there next year and hoepfully for many years to come.

We fished at Silver Water Wheel lodge for the first time in August 2011. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS RESORT AND THE LAKE. The service was great, the staff and management was the BEST. Lac Seul is a Walleye fisherman’s dream and so was the resort. This is a fully guided trip, American plan (food was great), and so was our guide. We are going back in 2012 and every year after that as long as we are able. The resort is small and remote – accommodations are first class. We enjoyed the low key environment and individual service we received. Fishing was over the top excellent. Al & Babs Debes, Leech Lake, Minnesota
