Fishing
Lake Wabaskang is 15 miles long with 105 miles of shorline and nearly 15,000 surface acres of water. Peffley’s is the only camp at the north end of the lake. This means that you have 10 miles of separation between Peffley’s and the next camp.
I get a lot fo questions about places that offer excellent walleye and smallmouth bass fishing. Quite frankly, this is a difficult combination to find. My first answer is always Lake Wabaskang. As a combination fishery (walleye and bass), I don’t believe there is a better place to go in Ontario. The northern pike and perch fishing is also very good. I have seen some pictures of big northerns and read reports of a number people who go exclusively for the perch fishing. Finally, lake trout and whitefish round out your options.
Wabaskang can certainly entertain you for a long time. But you can also fish 6 other lakes from boat or foot portages.
Accommodations
Peffley’s Canadian Wilderness Camp has 8 housekeeping cabins. Housekeeping cabins have all your bedding, dishes and cooking utensils, full size propane stove, refrigerator, wood burning stove, flush toilets and hot shower. Electricity is provided 24/7 via generator with a back up generator on site.
Cabins are 1 to 3 bedrooms and can sleep up to 6 people.
They offer 14 or 16 foot Naden boat with 15 and 20 hp four stroke Yamaha outboards.
Packages and Rates
All of their packages are Housekeeping Plans. Peffley’s Canadian Wilderness Camp has not raised their rates from 2009. This is a pretty big deal when you think about how the cost of everything is going up. Their rates vary by number of people and number of boats. As an example of their rates, their 4 person rate using 2 boats is $550 US for the week. This rate includes everything except Ontario sales taxes, fishing licenses, live bait, and staff gratuities.
Location
Peffley’s Wilderness Camp landing is located north of Perrault Falls, Ontario off Highway 105. A 20 minute boat ride will take you to their camp. The Google Map below is intended to give you an idea of their general location and does not reflect the exact destination.
