Lakair Lodge
Lakair Lodge sits on the west arm of Lake Nipissing in Northeast Ontario. There is an expression on some popular Ontario fishing forums –There is No Air Like Lakair– indicating that this is a great place to go to for a fishing trip vacation. A Housekeeping or American Plan package will give you access to Lake Nipissing’s great fishing.

Fishing
Lake Nipissing has walleye, northern pike, smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, panfish and muskie.
From what I am hearing, the walleye population on the West Arm is very healthy right now. If the pictures in Fred and Amy Ward’s photo albums from their Lakair trips are any indication, I would say the walleye fishing looks to be pretty darn good. Here’s a sample…

This video is of a very nice pike caught near their docks. There is some mild language in the background that may not be suitable for young ears.

Accommodations
They have 15 cottages ranging in size from 1 to 4 bedrooms. They also have a small campground and trailer park.
Their rental boats are traditional Giesler 18′ cedar-strips with 15hp Yamaha motors. You can also bring your own boat as they have plenty of docking space.
Packages and Rates
Lakair Lodge offers American Plan and Housekeeping Plan packages. The only differences are that the American Plan includes meals and daily maid service. The weekly American Plan rate using one of their boats is $1040 Canadian per person. The weekly Housekeeping Plan rate using one of their boats is $660 Canadian per person. You can customize a plan for you based specifically on your needs. See their web site for details.
Uniquely, their package plan rates include taxes. So make sure that you are taking that into consideration when comparing rates.
