  • Here is a 2002 article that I found from the Department of Fish & Game regarding fishing Lake Casitas. While most people go for largemouth bass, this article points out that a fishing trip to the lake can also target other species.

  • I found a great article by Logan Hall at World Wide Fishing Guide on a day of fishing at Lake Casitas with Ojai Angler Guide Service. This California lake is high on my wish list for places to fish. So, I can relate when Logan states

    Like a kid on the way to Disneyland for the first time, my mind is filling with all of the possibilities that lie in the depths ahead. Its time to go fishin!

    Nothing huge on this trip but also a very nice day fishing.

    Our total catch included 7 largemouth that were keepers and several smaller bass that had put up a good fight and were no less fun to catch.

California is known for its trophy largemouth but this 9.83 pound Smallie may make us start thinking about California for more than largemouth. The record was caught in Pardee Lake.

    Sacramento River - Not all winter fishing include trophy fish or any fish for that matter. Trout Underground has a report on such a trip to the Upper Sacramento River. It still beats sitting on the couch.
