I was recently contacted by the owners of Eagle Falls Lodge. I don’t come across many places that I haven’t visited their web site. But Eagle Falls Lodge, on Parker Lake with fishing on Red Lake, was new to me. On first inspection, what immediately caught my eye was their American Plan rate, which is extremely reasonable. I am also partial to boat-in camps. They give you the wilderness experience without quite the isolation of fly-ins. The rates for Eagle Falls Lodge is what you will pay at most boat-in’s without meals. Intrigued yet? I know that I was. Keep reading for more information on this lodge.
Fishing
At Eagles Falls Lodge, walleye and northern pike are the main target for traveling fishermen. In Red Lake, muskie and lake trout can also be had. It does not sound like Parker Lake and Red Lake are connected by navigable waterway. But the Lodge has separate boats on Red Lake.
Accommodations
For a rustic lodge, they have a number of key modern convenciences like bathrooms with toilets and showers with hot water. They also have power 24 hours a day.
They max out at 25 guests, a nice number which I suspect allows for good customer service and lots of water to fish by yourself.
Packages and Rates
I know I told you earlier the rates were good. Here is what they are for 2010, $750 for adults and $375 for children 12 years old and under. They run their packages from Saturday afternoon arrival to Friday morning departure. During your stay, you get breakfast and dinner served in the main lodge and bag lunches (or a shore lunch kit), boat/motor on Red Lake and Parker lake, all of your gas, lodging, boat-in transportation and vehicle parking. Get this…the package price also includes your taxes.
Why does this place have to be over a 24 hour one-way drive from where I live?

I have been going to Eagle Falls for over 10 years. Current owners have continued the fine traditions I found on my first visit and have added several new features. For the price, I can’t imagine a better fishing destination being available. I was there the last week of May-first of June in 2010. The fishing on Red Lake was tremendous and the accommodations and hospitality were excellent; I would recommend Eagle falls to any one looking for good walleye and northern fishing on 2 beautiful lakes at a very reasonable price.
This place had excellent fishing. The group I was with caught hundreds of walleyes. There were a handful of Northern caught over 35in, many over 40in with many many 20in+ walleye.
Having just returned from a fantastic week at Eagle Falls Lodge I can not wait until it is time to return there. Everything you could imagine, from excellent walleye fishing, and monster northern pike, on both Red Lake and Parker Lake, very gracious hosts, great food, and all at a reasonable price. I have been going there for several years, and it is hard to believe, but it gets better every year. If you are looking for a completely wonderful Canadian fishing trip, this is it.
Five us just returned from Eagle Falls Lodge. This is the best fishing trip for the price bar none. You just bring your gear and clothes and everything else is provided. We caught a lot of Walley and Northern. Having two lakes to fish on gives you a lot of options that you won’t get at other lodges.
We caught a lot of 20″ plus Walleye and 30″ plus Northerns. The owners are so nice and helpful. The food is home cooked and just like home. Steak, French Toast, Cheese Cake, Ice Cream and more. The rooms have electricity, running water and showers.
A great place at a great price. Can’t wait to come back.
Many walleye in the 22″-27″ range. We ate 17″-18″ fish every day there at shore lunch. Breakfast and dinner meals were fantastic. Onwers gave advice on seasonal fishing patterns. Off the beaten path without the extra expense. Nice value.
In the twelve years of vacationing at Eagle Falls Lodge, I have never been disappointed. The fishing is phenomenal. There are several trustworthy places to catch walleye for shore lunch. There are also many spots that have a history of producing large northern and walleye, but every year we find new coves, flats, or creeks that produce many fish, large fish, or both. In one week of fishing it’s possible to catch enough fish to feel like an expert about the lakes, but with both Red Lake and Parker to explore, I’ve never gotten bored with the area. There’s always new fishing holes to find. The current owners have made the trip the best experience yet. Our boats are gassed and free of water each morning. They have purchased new 20 hp motors to replace the 15 hp ones on Red Lake. The 9.9 hp motors on Parker are being replaced by 15s. Fresh fruit is now served with breakfast and ice cream makes an appearance at dinner even though we are 3 miles by boat from town. The scenery is a breathtaking expanse of trees and water which means plenty of fresh air and wildlife including ducks, loons, eagles, bears, beavers, deer, and moose. This trip equals the most exciting week of my year, all at a surprisingly reasonable cost.

This past week was my second year in a row going to Eagle Falls Lodge. I can tell you right now I will be back next year! The owners are helpful in making sure to help your every need. Walleye and Northern are the main fish you will find and trust me, you will find them! What I found most fascinating was the shore lunch. They provide you with cookers to fry up your keepers fresh on shore for lunch. Not only is the fishing excellent, but the breakfast and dinner meals are delicious and homemade.
I love the fact that you boat in to a camp that is isolated from the town. However, all of the camp has electricity and running water. You will feel like you are away from everything, yet have all of the modern conveniences at your fingertips. Price is wonderful because your lodging, gas for boats, and meals are all included. The staff goes above and beyond the call of duty and that is why I will keep coming back!
I’ve been fishing here since the 80 ties. A trip to Eagle Falls Lodge will be your BEST fishing week ever. Owners are VERY customer friendly, fishing is excellent, food great and shore “walleye” lunch you’ll LOVE. Just do it and GO . Birthday parties are BEST just ask CARRIE.
I’ve been going to Canada resorts in Ontario for 52 years, and I’ve stayed in about every resort from Vermillion Bay to Red Lake. The past 15 years I have stayed at Eagle Falls Resort. This is my home away from home. The fishing and food are both fantastic. The hosts go beyond the call of duty. The beds are comfortable; the showers are hot. Who could ask for more from a fishing vacation? I highly recommend it to a novice or an experienced fisherman. Can’t wait to get back.
Editor’s Note: Terry has provided some photographs to give you an idea of what to expect at Eagle Falls Lodge.
I was out fishing on Parker Lake on my birthday. Back in Wisconsin my daughter and wife went out for dinner. During cocktails, my daughter raises her glass and says “Happy Birthday Dad, I hope you catch the biggest fish”. Back on Parker Lake, BANG!! the lure took off. I caught the largest northern pike of my life!
What happened? God listens! Coincidence! Carrie’s birthday present for me!
This trip I wait for all year. I will be back next year.
I visited Eagle Falls Lodge in early July and it has been by far the best week of the summer. I am not an experienced fisherman but had no trouble catching multiple walleye and northern pike on Red Lake and Parker Lake. At times it seemed the fish were almost jumping in the boat. The food was outstanding and the cabins were very comfortable. The owners were fantastic and even provided a fireworks display on July 4th. I met a lot of great people and would love to go back next year. Everything about the trip exceeded my expectations. It is a great opportunity for the occasional or expert fisherman to have a week of uninterrupted relaxation.
Just got back from eagle falls lodge, as usual the fishing was incredible. i’ve been coming here for eight years now and never been disapointed, my favorite part is the choice of two lakes, Parker lake and Red lake, Parker lake is a smaller more sheltered lake (7 miles long) and red lake is much bigger and deeper(about 43,000 acres). depending on the wheather you can stay tucked away in a quiet bay on parker or go after the really big ones on red. The hosts have always gone above and beyond the call of duty to make your stay the best it can be and the food is exellent, i also like that for one reasonable price everything is included, just bring your gear. I look forward to my vacation to Eagle falls lodge all year and it is my favorite time of year.
We just spent our second vacation at Eagle Falls Lodge! We gifted the trip to my parents this year as well and we had a wonderful time! You can’t expect to find a more relaxed and friendly atmosphere anywhere. AND the fishing! We fished Red Lake the entire time last year, never getting the time to go to Parker Lake…we tried Parker Lake the second day and never left it the rest of the trip! We shore lunched it every day (except 1) and always had to stuff ourselves with the fish we caught! Last year, I had made the leader board with my 28″ walleye and this year I caught the biggest Northern of our group…31″. We plan to return with a family group in 2012…we are already making plans!
Carrie and Travis are wonderful hosts…couldn’t ask for better. Congrats to them for an accomplishment well done!
If high quality service and friendliness are important when you stay at a fishing lodge, Eagle Falls Lodge is the place for you! This was our first time to fish Red Lake and Parker Lake. The owner Travis did not let us flounder; with not knowing were to fish. He took us out the first morning of fishing and fished with us until lunch. What a treat! When I asked him what we owe him he stated, “This is part of the package.” If it is your first time out with them, they want to make sure you have a good time from day one! We will be returning.
The hosts, Travis and Carrie could not of been more helpful and pleasant. Food was good and enjoyed in a pleasant atmosphere. Travis took us out on Red lake so we could become familar with the bigger body of water as Parker Lake was easy to navigate without help. Travis let me use his bait caster reel and rod as mine is now in the reel repair shop. ( THANKS) The two different lakes, allows you to fish each day reguardless of the weather.
Eagle Falls Lodge – a home away from home. The stay at the lodge was extraordinary again this year. Our week ended yesterday the 6th. (2 1/4 hours to get over the border ughh!).
I’ve been coming to Eagle Falls Lodge for 10 plus years and it has never been better. Travis takes care of us with all the technical aspects of a fisherman’s needs, while Carrie comforted us with home cooking that never stops getting better. By the way is it already excellent food, so better than excellent ??? Yes!
The fishing on “Big Red” was pretty challenging this year, but Dave and I were still able to pull in more than forty 21″ or better Walleyes, along with a few stray 30″ Northerns. Oh yeah, Dave and I also came in top dogs for the week on the big walleye tournament – I came in with a 27″ and Dave beat that about an hour later with a 27 1/2″. Congrats to Phil on his enormous 46 1/2″ Northern catch on Red Lake. What an incredible week”
Thanks to Carrie and Travis for setting the stage for a terrific trip at Eagle Falls Lodge, once again!!!
By the way, the 3-star rating on the fishing needs explanation: we struggled to find fish under the 21 inch size this year…There must have been some summer camp going on for that size range…otherwise, 5-Star for sure!!!
Hey – Changed my mind – a 3-star was way to harsh…fishing was excellent, despite the lack of 17 and 18 inch walleyes!! …we did fill in with them with some hard work!!

We have been going up to Eagle Falls for over 15 years and it only gets better every year. We were up in the beginning of July and we had a great week of fishing. We caught Northerns in the upper 40’s for the seconf year in a row na Walleyes in the middle to upper 20’s. Carrie nad Travis do a fantastic job making sure that everyone has a great time. They have made many improvements in the last 2 years. Chef Carrie prepares breakfast and dinner for all and the food is always great. Travis has the boats all gased up and bailed out everyday. We would highly recommend Eagle Falls for your Canadian adventure.
This past week was my 3rd time returning to Eagles Falls Lodge, and the second under the ownership of Carrie and Travis. This place is fantastic!!! If you want excellent fishing for Walleye and Northern Pike, that includes exceptional accomodations, customer service minded owners, great meals and all at a reasonable cost; then look no further. You have now found your next Canadian fishing adventure!! Travis and Carrie are the consumate hosts and continue to improve on their already excellent equipment and services. You haven’t had a true Canadian fishing adventure if you haven’t fished here. I love this place!!!
