I was there a couple of times years ago. (before and during the Pete Calder reign) I did NOT like how he ran the camp so Iwent elsewhere. (flying in,driving in,walking in,boating in)-done it all- My wife will be with me,just the two of us,but I must have a PRIVATE cabin probably for one wk. We may wish to stay longer but if so we can try to work something out at that time.Late June or early July would work for us. We're retired so don't need to worry about vacation time and even a mid-wk to mid- wk slot would be OK Please send literature, questions, prices and\or suggestions to: Ron Shave-66 Sunshine
Circle-Mountain Home,AR 72653. The e-mail would work also. Thanks,RON What does URI mean?

I came across this lodge three years ago now when looking for a fishing destination that could deliver the ultimate catch! Going back for my third time this year in June, then again in August!!

Our first year was amazing! Top notch hospitality by Tom and Nadine is like nothing I have ever seen before. Cottages are very well maintained, beautifully decorated to reflect the lodging lifestyle and CLEAN! Wow I could not believe it.
The fishing is top notch! Tom is quick to share with you all the spots that he himself or his guides have had the best of luck at. Ask any of the experienced guides and they will tell you how deep the fish are running at and what they are catching them on. No secret hot spots at this lodge!

The boats at Marten River Lodge are like no other boats at any other lodge! 16 foot Starcrafts, 20 hp Mercury four stroke, live well, fish finder, casting platform, and high back seats!

Bottom line is, if you are looking for a memorable vacation, and amazing fishing, and incredible hospitality then Marten River Lodge is the place to go. Whether it be just you and the guys or your entire family. I guarantee that Marten River Lodge can and will deliver the ultimate fishing experience.

Overall Rating

Fishing

Staff Helpfulness

Value

I had the great experience of fishng Eddies river system in 2011 what a great guy and a very well run camp. Eddie himself is a class act and the fishing was the best I have had in my life time. Already booked for 2013 season if I could I would be going again this year but it did not work out on my side. Eddie told me he was going to open up anothe camp about 10 miles up the river in 2013. He has a lake called Ritcher lake that from what I have heard by guests it is a Walleye factory. Give him a call better make it early because this camp will fill fast once the word gets out. My hats off to Eddie.

Overall Rating

Fishing

Staff Helpfulness

Value

We stayed July2-9/2011. We were a group of 11. 4 adults 7 boys (aged 12-16). Stayed in cabin 2.
While we were there the pike fishing was excellent and the walleye very sporadic. The lake and cabins were very nice. The cabin was plenty big and had lots of storage and a nice big kitchen/common area. The cabins water pump gave us lots of problems but was no big deal. we enjoyed the solar panels providing us limited lights each evening. There was no sat phones as advertised. The boats/motors were fine. We did have one motor failure during our week but it was replaced fairly quickly. JC (owner) was tough to deal with in terms of price. He did not inform us until we got there that the fuel (including what was on boat) was extra $! This was a poor way to start our week!. We were also forced to go to the main lodge to get extra fuel ourselves (long way) as they did not deliver. The lake is a fair size so fuel is an issue! We were also very disappointed to learn (after arriving) that campfires were strictly prohibited. Our bbq was shit as one side of the burner was gone so only produced a large open flame! They only visited us once during the week and never came to pick up our garbage. We certainly did enjoy our visit but the customer service was not terrific.

Overall Rating

Fishing

Staff Helpfulness

Value

I've been going to Eagle Falls Lodge for almost 10 years. When I go there it's by far the best week out of the entire year. I love it up there. You catch a lot of fish and big ones at that. The food is great. The view is great. The owners provide such good service for their guests. They care a lot about your visit to Eagle Falls Lodge. They want you to be satisfied and they go above and beyond to give you one of the best trips of your life. If you like to fish, catch fish, eat fish, eat great foods, spend time in nature, or just get away then this is the place to go. The shore lunches are the best part. There is nothing like eating freshly caught walleye right from the water. It's better than any fish I've ever eaten. I could go on and on about Eagle Falls Lodge and the memories I have made there. I can't wait to get up there this summer to catch some of those walleye and Northern.

Overall Rating

Fishing

Staff Helpfulness

Value

I book a week for my father and I the week before Memorial Day in 2010. I have to say everything was top notch. The only problem we had was the weather, which was unbelievably hot. Every day we were there it was 95-100 degrees. Obviously the fishing suffered. While we caught lots of perch right around the lodge, the walleye were not active. We also caught some pike and smallies. We took a back lake trip and only caught one walleye. We missed out on the shore lunch because there was a ban on all fires because of the heat. The next day however a family limited out on the same lake, go figure. The accomadations were excellent. The chef was fantastic, every meal was out of site. And the bag lunches were also awesome. The boats were top notch and there was access to plenty of water. We saw a huge bull moose swim across the back lake while we were there, and also heard a wolf outside of our cabin one night. Like I said everything was great and I'm sure we would have done a lot better on the fishing if it were'nt for the heat.
