Northwestern Ontario has some great fishing opportunities. One of those opportunities is located 185 miles north of Red Lake at Big Hook Wilderness Camps fly-in outpost destinations. They have a number of outpost Housekeeping Plan camps that offer pike and walleye fishing.
Al Linder has spent some time there and raves about their walleye fishing.

Fishing
Walleye and northern pike are the targets at Big Hook Wilderness Camps. Perch and whitefish are also available in good numbers on some of their lakes.
Their lakes are located in the Opasquia Provincial Park. Here is a list of the lakes that they fish.
Burnt Lake – Northern Pike, Perch and Walleye
Central Lake – Northern Pike and Walleye
Cocos Lake – Northern Pike and Walleye
Lemonade Lake with Access to Favourable Lake – Northern Pike, Sauger and Walleye
South Lake – Northern Pike and Walleye
South West Lake – Northern Pike, Perch and Walleye
West Lake – Northern Pike and Walleye
As good camps should do, they post updated fishing reports on their site.
Accommodations
At Big Hook Wilderness Camps, you will find the typical outpost cabins. What is unique is that they pre-stock your cabin with staples as part of their package such as pork and beans, canned vegetables, peaches/pears, powdered juice, jelly, onions, coffee, mustard, syrup, pancake mix, sugar, dry onion soup mix, potatoes, salt and pepper, lard or cooking oil, ketchup, scouring pads, dish washing soap, toilet paper and handi-wipes. This saves a lot of packing space and more room to bring a few extra lures.
Also, Big Hook Wilderness Camps have 16′ boats at two of their camps. When fishing with kids, this can be important.
Packages and Rates
Their rates depend on how many people are in your party. If you have 4 adults in your party, you will pay $1129 per person. The rate for children 12 years old and under (accompanied by one adult) is $829 per child.
Fly-In Weight Limits
Big Hook Wilderness Camps allows customers 100 pounds (45kgs) per person (50 pounds per child). Extra stuff can be flown in for a reasonable additonal cost.

I have been fishing at Big Hook Camps for roughly 19 years now. I must say the fishing is absolutely unbelievable! They are the most remote fly-in fishing outpost in Northwestern Ontario. The cabins are rustic and incorporate the use of solar power for their lights and freezers. The best part is that you are the only people on the lake, there are no cities within 185 miles! I would truly recommend this place to any fisherman who wants to go somewhere a little off the beaten path.
Been there 15years great fishing and owners do a great job with the guests. Agree that best part is you are by yourself on the lake.
