About

Lost Lake Wilderness Lodge PikeWelcome to Fishing Traveler, the blog that helps fishermen plan their next fishing trip.

My name is Chris, and I am a for-fun blogger.  The picture is of my favorite fishing partner, Austin, and I on a remote lake in Ontario at Lost Lake Wilderness Lodge holding his first northern pike.  I have been an avid fisherman all of my life and love to talk fishing with anyone and everyone.

More than anything, I love to plan fishing trips.  I spend hours planning future fishing vacations.  Sometimes I look for information on trips that I won’t get to for years like Alaska or Mexico.

I live in Pennsylvania and have fished in New York, Colorado, Ontario, Virginia, Maryland, and North Carolina. My favorite is Ontario.  I love targeting Ontario’s northern pike, walleye, and my favorite, the smallmouth bass.

This site was inspired by how much time I spend on the web trying to find information.  In this site, I will blog on items that are of interest to me and that I think might help others plan their next fishing trip.  I hope you find this site helpful and add to its content by commenting on posts or even writing an article about a trip you’ve taken.

Chris,
Not sure this is the appropriate place for this, but thanks for linking to our site. Looks like you’re just getting started on this blog. It looks great. I’ll check back often, if not to plan a trip at least to dream of one. Take care,

hawgdaddy

Fishing is having fun and catching, even if you dont catch that “Big One.” Fishing is hunting in the water. It is the quest for bragging rights and is a lot less expensive than therapy. It is mental health care for people everywhere. Not everyone has a boat or can afford one but everybody can fish. From hand lines to top of the line tackle the principle is simple; one line for one person for a relaxing time out from the everyday chatter around us. Next time your down Venice, Florida way, drop by and see us and we will treat you to Bull fishing; at least that’s what we will be targeting but that is really up to the shark

You are welcome to come up and fish here in teh Yukon Territory as well. We are right next door to Southeast Alaska so there is enough to keep you busy for a while.

Take care, Dennis@Fishonyukon.com

We’ve enjoyed reading your comments on fishing trips in Ontario. We are planning a father/son trip for 2008, and Lost Lake was on our short list. Your article gave us valuable additional info on this lodge and lake.
Have you ever fished the West Arm of Nipissing or the lower French River? We are looking into those spots also.
Best thing about your blog is that you share your trips with your kids!

It’s so strange where you can end up when you simply Google your own name. Chris, you’re a man who loves to fish most what I mostly fish best. Similarily, I too spend much time online searching the next great vacation opportunity. 2008 has Ungava Arctic Quebec, Costa Rica, Nipigon Ontario, Kesagami and the Attawapiskat River in Ontario calling my name. Good luck with your vacations wherever you choose. It’s nice to hear you enjoy my write ups and I understand I’ll need to try and control my foul language the next time I’m caught up in the excitement of a friend catching his personal best pike.

Regards,

Moosebunk

Thanks for taking time to help fellow anglers (and dads) with your excellent blog site. I’ve enjoyed reading all of your trip reports. My adult son and I have decided to spend a week next fall at Lost Lake Wilderness Lodge. This lodge was on our short list, and after reading your trip report several times, and conversing with Ed at Lost Lake with lots of questions, we feel it’s going to be a great vacation.
Looking forward to reading your future trip reports on the new site.
Happy and Healthy New Year to you and your family.
Tim McCormack
